De Santis Alvarez: the Italian tailoring that transforms tradition into avant-garde

The creative duo De Santis Alvarez, composed of tailor Carmine De Santis and designer Martin Alvarez, is establishing a new language in Italian fashion. By combining sartorial rigor with formal experimentation, the two designers reinterpret classic codes, making them contemporary, spectacular, and always surprisingly wearable.

Carmine, heir to a historic family of tailors from Salerno, brings with him a technical heritage rooted in 1961. This expertise is complemented by Martin’s sculptural vision, who constructs garments directly on the mannequin, transforming fabrics into three-dimensional structures: metamorphic capes, wedge sleeves, skirts with detachable pleats, and outerwear that plays with volumes and transparencies.

To ensure uncompromising quality, the duo acquired a workshop in Vigevano, where every fabric is customized and nothing is mass-produced. The atelier on Via Ariberto in Milan is the creative heart from which collections that captivate boutiques in New York, the Emirates, Europe, and Asia originate, thanks to the work of the showroom Elisa Gaito.

Their offerings blend urban chic with theatrical couture: from lightweight tweed to reinterpreted brocades, from regimental transformed into feminine shirt dresses to tulle architectures designed for the evening. The result is fashion that combines design intelligence with visual emotion, capable of renewing the codes of Italian elegance without ever betraying its essence.

With De Santis Alvarez, tailoring not only endures: it evolves and conquers.
