In the heart of Monferrato, where wine becomes art: the Coppo Wineries

Oct 28, 2025Companies

In Canelli, at the heart of Monferrato, are the Coppo Wineries, spectacular underground galleries carved into tuff since 1890 and now recognized as a UNESCO Heritage Site. A magical place where history, wine, and architecture blend into a unique experience.

Since 2021, under the guidance of the Lanci Soldadino family, the wineries are experiencing a new golden age: restoration of historic buildings, new apartments for hospitality, a bistro among the vineyards, and sustainable technologies for wine production.

With 85 hectares of vineyards and a production range from Barolo and Barbaresco to Gavi and Chardonnay, Coppo combines the Piedmontese winemaking tradition with a modern and international vision.

Visiting these “cathedrals of wine” means experiencing the true soul of Piedmont, among tastings, history, and breathtaking landscapes.
